Tinnevelly Cotton
TINNEVELLY COTTON
Indian cotton grown in the Madras Presidency. It is a strong, elastic fibre of dull creamy colour and 1-in. to 1-in. staple. Used for yarns up to 28's warp and 28's weft. Yield 27 per cent to 30 per cent. It is being replaced by pure Karungauni.
